Who We Are

Board of Directors

GVAMS Foundation Inc.

Vikki Borg-Iuele has been an educator in the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board for 30 years and has recently retired. She has dedicated most of her career to delivering experiential learning opportunities whereby her students are genuinely engaged in their learning. She is keenly interested in making a social justice connection with the aim of helping to build a world where equality is the norm, not the goal. Her work in Haiti took life from such experiential ventures when she involved students in several social justice trips to Jacmel, Haiti with the hope that students from Canada and Haiti would interact for a shared experience and in doing so, plant the seeds for a better tomorrow.

I am retired from a Management position in the University of Toronto where I also graduated with a Specialist in Art History. Working towards achieving a better life for the less fortunate people of Haiti compels me more than any other position I have ever held.

“To know one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.”
Ralph Waldo Emmerson

This is the quote I live my life by. As a gym owner, personal trainer and art teacher, I am in the people “business”.
I strive to inspire people to see their own inherent strength whether it is with a kettlebell or a paintbrush. They are capable of so much more than they realize.

Haiti Forward connects me on a larger scale, providing me with the opportunity to transcend borders allowing me to spread my love and compassion not just locally, but globally.
